You Can’t Keep Me Out

Written by , Posted in faith, life, poetry

Christianity in general (and Evangelicalism in particular) has a great many vocal, self-proclaimed gatekeepers. They employ a range of scare tactics and subtleties, but the message is the same: “We” are in; “you” are out.

This has long been the way of the Christian; it has never been the way of the Christ.

Join me today at A Deeper Story for my short piece of spoken word poetry, You Can’t Keep Me Out.

    Hi Tamara

Like the picture above , reminds me more of England, than Florida though. I’m glad you are still around, thought you’d voluntarily gone to Coventry. I liked the poem & presentation, cleverly done and constructed.

Thanks, Hannah! Haven’t been hiding, just busy!

Great Tamara! In my household, we’re all missing your posting (3 Jews, 1 atheist,1 agnostic) . I’m not of your faith, although I did explore it in great detail; got a piano recently so been playing Psalm 121 a lot. I find your honesty and frankness refreshing, you’re more like Jesus than a lot of the others who claim your faith (I don’t have a problem with ‘frog’ – U see I did watch the other videos!). Thanks and keep posting when you can.

Aw, thank you! I appreciate you and your sweet family so much! And you know, I think we share a lot of faith. 🙂

            Hi Tamara,

I agree and that is cool! (:

A viable alternative is not to want to go in, which is my case.

    Hi Tamara,
I can really relate to your beautiful poem. I have felt the same way about many “Christians”. My search has been the catalyst for the book I wrote.

    A huge victory for believers:
Scientific proof of this fact begins on page 144 of my book.
    Simple, Understandable diagrams.

Our relationship to the chimp lies not in our DNA, but in a common Creator God.
